More About Essential Oils

We will all have different approaches to using oils.  We will all be affected a little differently by each oil.

Think of essential oils like you might think of food.  It is not too hard to figure out what foods you like, likewise,  it is not too hard to figure what oils you will.  You need to try them!

My suggestion is to do this slowly at first. Perhaps try one or two oils the first day.  You may want to dilute them with one part essential oil, three parts carrier oil.  Drink extra water if you use a lot of oils.

Don't think that by diluting the oils, you're making the oils less effective because you’re not. It will just take a little longer for the oils to be absorbed through your skin.

You might want to make a test spot, and wait a half hour - it takes 21 minutes to go through your entire system.  Some people’s bodies do not react and some do.

Be careful not to rub your eyes with an oiled up finger! If this should happen, just put vegetable oil on a tissue and pat it over the affected area.  Not water!  Water intensifies the oils’ effects.  Don’t have oil?  Then let it water naturally.

Please remember that I am specifically talking about  Grade A Therapeutic Essential Oils only. As far as using other oils, please be careful: there are often fillers and chemicals that can make them less useful, or even harmful.

Also, I do not attempt to diagnose or cure anything! Oils assist your body in healing itself.  I believe that if you find what works for you, you will become better.

The choice of which oils to use is INDIVIDUAL, the oils do not work on everyone exactly the same, although we know what to try!   The cause of symptoms can be different.

Take a headache - might be from sinus, stress, indigestion, allergic response, hormonal changes, hunger, flu, etc.  See?

Go with your gut feeling and look it up or ask.  I suggest everyone get a reference guide, at least a little one. Look at the list of oils and the descriptions of their properties. Think about your symptoms and what might be the underlying cause.  Try one.  If it doesn't do the trick, try another. Even if the oil you choose doesn't help your body turn off your headache, it will have other beneficial effects, even if only by increasing oxygenation!
