There are three basic ways to use Essential Oils:
Smelling, Wearing, and Ingesting.
Smelling Them
Th
e oils work aromatically, so you can just smell them to get an effect! Diffusers produce a fine mist of oils that purify the air and linger in it for hours. Diffused oils’ structure has changed, so eliminates odor molecules. All of the oils make more oxygen available and release natural ozone. Many kill germs and bacteria.
Wearing Them
Essential Oils may be applied directly to your skin (applied ‘neat’). With some of the stronger oils, or if you have sensitive skin, dilute with a carrier (like vegetable, coconut, olive, etc.) oil, when first trying.
Massage is a great way to use oils. If you massage them into your feet, where our largest pores are, they are very effective, especially when using a reflexology-like method. There are places on your feet that directly correlate to every part of your body!
Layering oils is a common way to use oils. You apply one essential oil or blend at a time, and wait about a half hour, then add another over it. Carrier oils will enable you to spread it farther.
Ingesting Them
This is always a surprise to some. You can take SOME of them internally through your – mouth! NOT ALL…so check first!
You can take supplements with oils, cook with them, or take them in a capsule. When taking a stronger oil, like oregano, it is highly recommended to add a carrier oil (to a capsule) to avoid stomach ache.

Diffusing the oils in the air is a fabulous means of using your essential oils. Doing this with a nebulizing diffuser sends the oils into the air as a very fine mist – hanging in the air for hours!
You only need to diffuse for a few minutes each day. I would start with 10-15 minutes the first day and then diffuse more often or for longer of time. Once you like 15 minutes, 3-4 times a day then you are using the minimum recommended amount of oil for purifying the air!
Or, put a few drops a cotton ball and place in a vent or fan. If you cannot smell it, it's not because it’s gone- you’re just used to it. If you leave for a half hour and come back, you will smell it again!
Keep your precious oils in a dark glass container/bottle. Dark to protect from light/heat. Glass to protect from synthetics/chemicals that can seep from plastic and other materials.
